The Stéphane Rolland Fall 2012 Couture The show in the beautiful venue of Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine started nearly an hour late. It turned out that it was Kim Kardashian and Kanye West who run late. They only made it in time to see the finale. Anyway, it was really worth waiting. For me, Stéphane Rolland is a master of volume and movement, who brings an architectual modernity to fashion. I adore his long, sleek dresses, sexy jumpsuits and fishtail skirts. The Fall 2012 collection was inspired by furniture designer Alvar Aalto, Verner Panton’s circular volumes and Christina Jekey’s art. Each silhuette was masterfully draped and sculpted with beautiful accents such as feathers, organza appliqué, silicone furs and crystal ornaments. Everything kept in deep burgundy, brown, black and ivory. My favorite piece of the show was a white jumpsuit with attached fabric to shoulders and the back of pants. This created an amaing cape effect. Chinese Fan Bing Bing actress closed the show wearing breathtaking ivory gown embelished with silicone feathers with extremly long train. Congratulations Stéphane!
