Balenciaga Autumn/Winter 2013
The nomination of Alexander Wang as a head designer for Balenciaga caused some confusion in the fashion world. Everyone was wondering whether “these shoes weren’t too big” for a young designer who is known for his sporty street wear.
Yesterday, with the presentation of his first collection for Balenciaga, came Alexander Wang’s big moment of truth. And I have to admit that it turned out quite well. Wang showed a lot of structured lines and used cocoon fabric, thus paying homage to founder Cristobal Balenciaga. He showed a beautiful and elegant collection in some of my favorite colors - black and white. See for yourself.

During the London Fashion Week there is a large amount of fashion -related events taking place outside the Somerset House. Wendy Rowe - one of the best make up artists in the world and her good friend Anja Rubik organized a party at the Ivy Club. It was a launch of Wendy’s webiste - wendyrowe.com. The event has gathered many famous and respected guests, including: Pixie Lott, Olivia Palermo and Karlie Kloss.
David Bowie - The Stars (Are Out Tonight)
“Tilda Sturdust” is a blog on tumblr dedicated to the belief that “Tilda and Bowie is one person”. The newly released Bowie’s video “The Stars (Are Out Tonight) may give an ultimate answer to that statement.Tilda Swinton is playing Bowie’s suburban housewife while two of fashion models - Andrej Pejic and Saskia de Brauw play an obsessive pair of celebrities and Iselin Steiro plays a singer who quite closely resembles Bowie.The video was directed by Floria Sigismondi.

Meeting at Harrods
For several weeks now La Mania’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection is available at Harrods. I am very happy because our designs attract great amount of interest. At the request of Harrods we have recently held a meeting with sales representatives responsible for our brand. We have introduced them to La Mania’s philosophy and presented our Spring/Summer 2013 collection. We know that Harrods customers praise La Mania for it’s modern design, simplicity and exceptional quality.

Premiere Vision Spring/Summer 2014
Première Vision - this is where the Spring/Summer 2014 season truly starts. It is the largest textile trade fair where more than 1800 manufacturers, exhibitors, designers, cutters and anyone from the fashion industry discovers new trends and chooses the fabrics for their new collection. The fair presents trends in fabrics, colors and trimmings, fibers, leathers and accessories which will impact the future seasons. The search for the fabric is often a starting point in the process of creating the collection. For us it was a very intense time. We had only two days and a lot of meetings with producers of quality materials. At one of the stands I met lovely Gianbattista Valli - the famous Italian couturier. We had the opportunity to chat a bit about the trends for next season.

That evening I was wearing a white jumpsuit with a black cape - both from La Mania, accentuated by a wide belt. I finished the look with Christian Louboutin pumps and Chanel bag.

Preparations for the show in Nyumba
Specially for this occasion, I asked my friend, celebrity stylist Michael Charalambous, to style models’ hair for the La Mania show at Joseph. Michael can work miracles when it comes to hair. He has been taking care of mine for many years and many of his clients include celebrities and rockstars.
We spent the morning at Nyumba preparing hair and makeup. With the help of his team, Michael created an amazing hairstyle.

La Mania at Joseph
On Wednesday evening La Mania was celebrating its official launch in one of the best multibrand stores in London - Joseph. During the event we presented our Spring/Summer 2013 collection and gave an exclusive preview of the Autumn/Winter 2013/14. The evening was great. A great show, wonderful music and amazing people. Thank you to everyone who came and supported La Mania and me, especially those who came from Poland just for this occasion.
